This was my first solo trip from Kansai and my first stay on the Izu Peninsula. Luckily, the weather was beautiful, and I enjoyed the views, the open-air bath, and the meals.
The sense of privacy was excellent, and the attentive service made me feel relaxed. Reading in the bath and having drinks while admiring the scenery felt like a special kind of luxury only possible when traveling alone.
My only small complaint was the stiff door lock. Other than that, the room was very clean and well cared for.
The kinmedai (alfonsino) shabu-shabu and even the sashimi at breakfast were wonderful. The price felt a little high for a solo traveler, but overall I was very satisfied.
I usually give strict reviews, but Mibu-no-Shou was close to perfect. I’d love to return, either with my family or again on my own, especially during cherry blossom season. Thank you also for the pick-up from Izu-Inatori Station.
absolutely loved and visited frequently.
And indeed — it was exactly the kind of place that shows my mother’s great taste.
The food, the room, the bath — everything was wonderful.
Since there aren’t that many guest rooms, you hardly ever run into other guests on the way to the large public bath. With in-room dining and private hot spring baths, it’s the perfect inn for doing absolutely nothing and simply relaxing.
The meals were delicious and plentiful — almost too much to finish, and we were completely satisfied.
I’ve been there twice, riding in my father’s car, though the road to the inn can be a little tricky the first time you go.
According to my father, they offer shuttle service from the station, as he saw their bus several times along the way (you might want to confirm this directly with the inn).
Next time, I’m planning to have my boyfriend drive and take me there for a special anniversary.
Since I travel to the Izu Peninsula about once a month, I’ve grown a little tired of the typical kinmedai (golden eye snapper) dishes — the simmered or shabu-shabu versions — even though each inn has its own twist.
This time, I contacted the inn in advance to request their special salt-boiled kinmedai, a dish said to be unique to this place.
The balance between the gentle saltiness and the tender texture of the fish was exquisite — truly impressive. This dish alone makes the inn worth revisiting.
However, I must admit that although I usually skip both breakfast and lunch on the day of my Izu trips so I can fully enjoy the dinner at the inn, this time I ended up drinking a bit too much beer upon arrival and couldn’t finish the meal.
The staff’s service was also excellent — they seemed to quickly sense my preferred pace and style and adjusted their approach perfectly.
Next time, I’d love to visit again in the colder season, ideally for a longer stay to fully relax and savor the experience.
but it turned out to be an absolutely wonderful experience.
The hospitality was truly exceptional, making all my initial worries disappear.
In fact, the service was so warm and comfortable that it felt beyond welcoming.
The meals were excellent as well, especially the breakfast — gentle in flavor and absolutely delicious!
The view from our room was breathtaking, and the open-air bath was perfect.
Without a doubt, this stay deserves a full 100 out of 100!
We’ll definitely be coming back!
even had its own bath, separate from the large public bath, so I could enjoy it anytime. I heard that the type and design of the bath differ depending on the room, which makes me want to try another one next time.
Bringing your own drinks isn’t allowed, but they have a good selection of craft beer and sake.
Meals are served in the room at a relaxed pace, and the fish dishes were delicious — be sure to come hungry!
It’s definitely a place I’d like to visit again on my next trip to Izu.
I watched a Japanese white-eye bird sipping nectar from the early-blooming cherry blossoms outside the window, singing with a sweet voice. The open-air bath in the room even had its own washing area beside it, two sinks, and chairs—very convenient.
Dinner included several dishes I had never tried before, and everything was delicious. Of course, the simmered kinmedai (alfonsino) was excellent, but even the abalone—which I don’t usually like—was outstanding, and I even wanted seconds of the liver rice. I worried about the fuki (butterbur) rice since I’m not fond of fuki, but the staff noticed right away and kindly offered plain rice instead, which made me very happy. Breakfast was almost like a small dinner in itself, and even came with coffee afterward.
I was able to fully relax in the bath as well, and this is definitely an inn I would love to visit again if I have the chance. Thank you very much to the attendant. I hope to return someday.
While Inatori usually brings to mind the seaside, this inn is set on a hilltop, offering a wonderful location where you can see both the ocean and the mountains of East Izu.
The spacious traditional Japanese room, the guestroom open-air bath with stunning views, the refined and luxurious meals, and the warm hospitality of the attendant—all of these made my stay truly relaxing.
I learned that each of the eight rooms has a different design, so I would love to come back seven more times and experience them all.
For anyone who wishes to enjoy the happiness of “doing nothing,” this is the perfect place. Thank you very much for the excellent stay.
which left a wonderful first impression. The view from our room’s window was simply breathtaking.
The staff member who attended us was excellent—answering our questions clearly and even adding some humor, which made us feel very comfortable.
We enjoyed the kinmedai (alfonsino) shabu-shabu this time, along with other delicious dishes. The rice porridge at the end of the meal was especially outstanding.
Soaking in the open-air bath allowed us to fully relax and refresh. My wife and I even said we would love to return here again for our year-end trip.
